AppSealing's End-of-Service (EoS) and End-of-Life (EoL) policies ensure technical support for the latest OS releases while maintaining minimal support for older OS versions, in line with changes in Android OS releases and Google policies.
End-of-Service (EoS)
- This encompasses the range of Android OS versions where AppSealing guarantees the proper functioning of its security features. AppSealing conducts all security and stability tests available within this OS range before releasing a product with a new version.
- AppSealing supports the most recent seven major versions of Android OS.
- Example: If Android 14 is the latest version, AppSealing supports Android OS versions from 8 to 14.
End-of-Life (EoL)
- This refers to the range of Android OS versions where sealed apps are guaranteed to function properly. The AppSealing team conducts stability tests within this OS range before releasing a product. Support may not be provided for security or non-critical stability issues within this version range.
- The EoL policy applies to the two major versions directly below the EoS version.
- Example: If Android 14 is the latest version, Android 6 and 7 are included in the EoL policy.
Exceptional Cases
- In the event of significant changes in Google Play Store policies or unexpected situations affecting the Android ecosystem, the AppSealing team evaluates the impact on library compatibility and promptly informs customers of any necessary adjustments.
- With the commencement of a new version program in Android, the AppSealing team verifies compatibility prior to the official release schedule and aims to provide compatible versions within three months of the official release.
